What? Money sucks? Yes, money sucks when you don”t have any of it (or little of it). Since December 08 I”ve been out of work after being essentially screwed out of a damn good job (making over twice what I was at the job before) by the economy flopping. I have yet to find a job and have been getting by on a few sporadic freelance gigs combined with the Navy salary, of course.
It”s amazing how much money lubricates our day to day lives. Think about it. Say your day consists of getting up, showering, getting ready, driving to work, working, going out to lunch (or eating in), working, running errands (grocery, cleaners, kids, etc), going home, making dinner, relaxing, then bed. Well, let us see here… showering costs money – for water, for soap/shampoo/etc – then if you eat breakfast – that”s food cost – and you put clothes on, which presumably you may buy 2 or 3 times a year (if not more).
Then there is all the driving you”ll do throughout the day, that”s a considerably sum these days. Going out to lunch can be anywhere from $5 to $15 a day and even if you eat in, you had to buy that food and prep it and put it in a container – all of which cost money. Then all the errands you have to run, maybe not daily but at least 2 or more times a month.
Now think about the luxuries you may pay for monthly, things like television, phones, movie tickets, gaming subscriptions, etc. These are the little things that make life livable, as opposed to the drudgery that occurs in its absence.
So, once again – Money Sucks and I have very little of it these days.
Butter pan fried flounder and a ton of steamed rice <3 Taking a break from these god forsaken uniforms!
