So, many of you who know me know that I”ve wiped the slate clean several times when it comes to my blog. Sometimes its just time to start anew and this time it”s going in a new direction.
Rather than this being some kind of diary online, I”m turning it into an actual -blog-. Something with a purpose. That purpose is mainly to update my readers on how the business process is going for me. Let me explain…
About three or four days ago I sat down with myself and had a silent conversation about what I really want out of life. For many years it has been my aspiration to start a company that did three main things: produce highly in-depth MUDs, affordable web design, and freelance writing and/or graphic arts. After thinking about it I really began to wonder why I was waiting, working for someone else, and not just going for what I really want.
So, now here I am with several differen business plan samples, sites bookmarked, and loads of questions just waiting to be answered. My first endeavour will be getting the backstory and basic game doc pieced together for my first MUD. Yes, it already has a name and it is to be called Viricus. So far the main continent has been mapped out, a partial map of the two other ones flooding into it as well. The outline of the backstory has been written, many of the various townes/cities/villages named and placed on the map, and most of the gods named and titled.
As for actual business aspects of the whole deal, not much has been done. I figure I have to have a product to pitch before I go pitching it right? The basics (the first 2 or 3 pages of the business plan) can be filled in easily at a moments notice, but the rest can be a bit tricky and I”m in no hurry to do the necessary research before I know my product inside and out.
I hope that you check back often and leave me some encouraging commentary! Goddess knows I can use ever ounce of it!
