I’ve not been blogging nearly as much as I used to and it’s really quite depressing. It’s most certainly not a lack of time but lately I feel like I have nothing worthy of writing about. Nothing is really going on that I haven’t already said or that isn’t better suited to a tweet or FB status. I have by no means ever written anything profound here on my personal blog, but it’s something I do aspire to. Once upon a time I used to be a skilled writer and since I’ve fallen out of practice my writing has gotten progressively worse. In addition to that I’ve been trying very hard to work out a design for EagerAmateur, so I could begin writing about technical subjects, but for the life of me cannot get a design to look right.

It’s quite unfortunate and really bugging me

Alright, it’s late but whatever. TADA!!! I’m giving away two inviso-line necklaces, one in pink and one in blue-green. These necklaces will be custom fitted to the winners (I’ll have you measure your neck) so no need to worry about whether it will fit you or not.

Both necklaces are made from glass beads, fishing line, and silver bar and circle closures. They are made to fit close to the neck letting the bead rest between the clavicles.

I hate heat

I really do. I absolutely abhor heat unless I’m able to remain in water all day. Then I don’t mind so much. Though I’d much rather have slightly cooler weather and warmer water hah! Today it is “feels like” 105 degrees and when I went down to let the dogs out it practically knocked me over. Which reminds me if you don’t think the planet is warming may I please punch you in the face?

Anyhow, school is finished (thank the gods)! I did alright and I’m very excited about not having any school till September (the day before my birthday). Though I will have plenty of things to do till then, including editing Nathan’s book and reading some others. And lots and lots of crafting.

Speaking of crafting, I posted some of the stuff I’ve made on Etsy. (keeshiabarker.etsy.com) And I added something to the sidebar (over there >>> ) that shows the latest items to be added to the store. I have a lot more to add for the photography section and I need to add a knitting/crochet section. I have some pieces of jewelry I’m working on at the moment so hurrah for more things to sell! I have one cross left so I’ll be making another rosary to put up for sale. And then I’ll be focusing on bracelets/anklets/necklaces because I don’t have many of those. When we get into August I’ll be focusing on pumping out scarves to prepare people for autumn/winter.

Crafty crafty!

So there has been a lot of crafty goodness in the last 24 hours. I had dinner at La Herradura with my buddy Katie last night and then came back to the house and spent some time crafting with her We were getting ready for today which was an Etsy crafting party! I spent an hour or so this afternoon deciding what to bring, printing out some simply business cards, and finishing up a few new pieces of jewelry.

Then it was off to the crafting party! Katie and I shared a small table which was cool since everyone wanted to see her super awesome pieces. She makes earrings and necklaces out of aluminum cans. (Go check out her Etsy site at CanCouture.etsy.com) Which inadvertently had people looking at my stuff I had earrings mostly, a few necklaces, a bracelet, and 4×6 prints of animal photography. I made a few more necklaces while we were there, which was a bout three hours.

There was a long line of tables of free stuff which was awesome. I got a bunch of fabric to use! I’m excited about that, very excited. After this Wednesday (end of class) I’ll be crafting up a storm to get ready for another event Katie and I are going to do at the same place. It’s exactly a month away so gotta get crackin! I want a full table of shiney things to show off.
